Biba Croydon hair salon website built by Scalus

A dark, gold-accented editorial site that slows the reader down the way the salon slows the chair down — the philosophy, the heritage, the services and the booking, all in one calm scroll.

The brief

Biba Croydon isn't a walk-in-and-out salon. Its whole philosophy is that they don't believe in one-size-fits-all hairdressing — every cut, every colour is intentional. They start by listening, they read your hair, then they craft something that's yours. A generic booking template would have fought that positioning at every scroll.

They also carry real heritage: BIBA was founded by Pavlos and Carmel Divitaris in 1975 and helped shape Melbourne's hair culture, training some of Australia's most respected stylists. The website had to feel considered and premium enough to earn that story — and still get a busy client to book a chair in seconds.

What we built

A brand that says "you're in good hands"

The site opens on a warm, cinematic hero — dark tones, a soft gold accent and the line "You're In Good Hands." It reads like a considered salon, not a directory listing, and sets the calm, unhurried tone the brand lives by: we don't do rushed, we do right.

The philosophy and the 1975 story, told properly

We gave Biba room to tell it — We Start By Listening → We Read Your Hair → We Craft Something Yours, then the founding story from 1975 and the craft-over-trends, quality-over-speed values. It's the trust-building that turns a first-time visitor into a booked appointment.

A full services menu and instant booking

The complete offering is laid out clearly — Precision Cutting, Bespoke Balayage, Hair Treatments, the Blonde Studio, Colour Correction and Hair Maintenance — each with its own short, honest description. Woven through it is online booking: a "Book your visit" panel plus call and email options, so clients can reserve their chair straight from the page or from any section they're reading.

We don't believe in one-size-fits-all hairdressing. Every cut, every colour is intentional.

The result

Biba Croydon now has a website that matches the room — premium, warm and unrushed — carrying the salon's philosophy and its 1975 heritage while making it effortless to book. Clients understand who Biba is before they arrive, and reserving a chair takes seconds.
